“Monster” review(short)

“Monster” is one of the most brilliant anime that i have watched, it has an interesting story with very well developed characters and the atmosphere of the anime. I am trying to keep this review SPOILER FREE.

Plot:

Monster is a psychological thriller anime through and through. The story is set in Germany after the cold war. The main protagonist is an Japanese neurosurgeon(Dr.Tenma) who is extremely talented and a prodigy. His life is going smoothly until the point where he has to make the decision of saving a 10 year old boy or a mayor. He saves the boy and loses his post as he did not save the mayor(hospital politics). After 10 years have passed on a series of murders come to light and the suspect is the boy that Tenma saved……

Monster-2

Review:

Monster has a very slow start(there is a reason it has 74 episodes), it is like a puzzle which when completed gives an outstanding result. There are many characters in this series which at first look’s as if they are not involved with plot at all, but as the story progresses you would realize each characters importance to the main plot.

The atmosphere the anime is set in is quite dark and gloomy which actually is important as the plot it self is quite dark. The most important part of Monster is it’s storytelling, the way the events are mentioned is quite astonishing. The characters in the anime are well developed.

It is the type of anime that i would not recommend binging. It took me almost 10 days to complete the anime( i can watch at least 20 episode a day). I admired the show and actually researched on some point from the anime.

Verdict:

This anime is one of the best and very few match up with it, so it is a must watch.

I wrote this review just after watching the last episode of monster so it is short and misses a lot of points, i will write a longer review for this anime.

Look at the animation!

There are not that many anime that i know which are related to E-sports(probably none) and i was quite intrested in this anime as i had been reading the manga for a while and hoped for it to be turned into an anime.

Animation: 10/10

The animation quality is beautiful(the above pic is from the anime).

The first episode made quite the impact and made me hate some of the characters, well the villans were introduced pretty early in this one. I also feel that the world of E-sport like other sports is not an easy one( people thing just because sitting on chair and playing game seems easy, the E-sport world is not that easy)

I recommend it to people who want to watch different anime and to people who are interested in E-sports.

Overall: 9/10

Well i liked the manga and the anime is great. Thats all for the review…….

Welcome to the NHK! Full Impression and review.

So you thought that a life of a Neet or  hikikomori is trouble free and nice, well you will have a huge change of opinions after watching this anime!

Trailer:

(This trailer contains a tiny bit of spoilers)

The story and character in brief:

The anime starts of with  Tatsuhiro Satou (MC) sitting in his room in a dreamy state and believing  that his hikikomori state is because of a big conspiracy. He has been a NEET for 4 years now after he just stopped going to college because he thought that the his classmates were laughing at him and were making fun of him(they were actually not,it is just in his head).

Story (10/10)

This anime is unique, complex and bitter truth about the real world. The story is a bit slow paced and because being slow it actually explains the plot beautifully. The story is deep and really makes you question are you actually satisfied with your life? The anime touches sensitive areas like depression, emotional roller-coasters, suicidal thoughts etc. Not many anime have touched those areas so deeply. The start is pretty funny, but once you the story progresses it gets more mature and everything starts making sense. Now for the romantic factor, this anime has no lovey dovey romance like you would find in other anime, but has a  more of a realistic approach. This anime shows the reality of the world we are living in and to be honest it is not that good. My point is that the story is awesome and satisfying.

Soundtrack and music (9/10)

The music used in the anime is real good starting from the Opening and ending to all other soundtracks used during the dramatic scenes and such. Great song choice. The music is fitting to the events in the anime.

Character (10/10)

The Character development in the anime is on point. Each character has a purpose. Every character grows, fails, learns, and maximizes their potential as a solid character. There is no such thing as a “weak character” in this anime. It’s actually unbelievable how well written, well developed and well exposed every character is and how that justifies their existence. Not a single character feels extraneous or even annoying.

Art (10/10)

The artwork itself is not the best but it is the most fitting for an anime which has so many emotions and feels to it. Well the anime was aired in 2006( probably made in 2005) which is almost 11 years back.

Overall (10/10)

You just have to watch this anime it is brilliant, well you can take your time and i do not recommend binge watching it. That depends on the viewer, but it is a must watch anime and should be watched by anime fans and non anime fans too. I personally feel it is on the same level as Toradora, Lovely Complex, Kimi ni Todoke etc. but it is too underrated.
