Tokyo Ghoul RE: Anime Review(Some Spoilers Ahead)

Well Tokyo Ghoul Re is the sequel to Tokyo Ghoul√A  .

You can start seeing some similarities there in terms of Art style and Stuff. Now Tokyo Ghoul Re is still carry’s a dark theme but it also has some comedy in it, something like in  Black Butler, where the whole theme is dark but you also have those chibi faces and quirky comedy, that was kinda different from what i was expecting but i’ll just say that it doesn’t really bother me but it might bother some fans( I don’t know if it is the same in manga but its there in the anime).

Story: So the direction of the story is kinda different with Kaneki now know as Haise is fighting with the CCG to fight against Ghouls. So when i actually started watching it i was left a bit confused, i had a lot of questions in my mind which most of them were answered after watching the 12 episodes but some of them still linger. The Pacing seems a bit fast probably because they only had 12 episodes to work with. I wonder why do they get just 12 episodes, Tokyo Ghoul is a pretty popular anime.

Characters: So most of the older characters are still present here but we have some addition like Saiko, Urie, Shirazu,Tooru etc. Well basically these new characters are from Haise’s own team and i personally like Shirazu. Each of those guys have unique personalities and unique motivations to fight against Ghouls.

Soundtracks: Well nothing can top “Unravel”, so the soundtrack are well lets say Nice, nothing more nothing less.

Animation: There are noticeable  downgrades from previous Seasons, Particularly during Fight scenes. The style which was present during the fights in the first and even some of the second season is now missing, those fight scenes don’t make a huge impact like previous ones.

Overall i liked binge watching the anime but only because the story was moving ahead and i was too lazy to read the Manga. Trust me i’ll read the manga eventually but till then i am  continuing with the anime. I just feel that the whole story is moving really fast with less explanation overall.  Also i know i am very late with this review but as of now the second season is airing so i thought it would be a good time to watch this season and then continue with the second one.

Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san- First Impression

This anime takes place in a book Store where the main protagonist a “Skeleton” works as a bookstore guy. The anime focuses on the hilarious and unique kind of characters that visit the Book Store(more like a comic Store).

There are people coming from all walks of life and Honda(skeleton) has to deal with them, sometimes they might be foreigners and sometimes very eccentric manga fans. The way he deals with them is pretty hilarious.

The anime is around 11 minutes long with two short stories in each episode. So overall a really good anime, very light hearted and just funny overall, and i also like how they refer to other anime’s.The other people working in the store are also a bit unique in their own way. All in all i had pretty fun time watching this.

It was a like a breath of fresh air, since i have not been watching anime for a while, this one was perfect to start from.

Honda-San.
One of the hilarious Customers.

Every PS4 owner should play Persona 5(No spoilers)

I have been away from the anime scene again but now for a good reason. I was at the end part of persona 5. It takes a lot of time and every hour i spent playing it was worth it.

I know this is not about an anime but still i would like to discuss my opinion on it.

So this Jrpg game and my very first jrpg game that I actually completed. The thing is that i never really liked the world setting for other Jrpg games but Persona 5 has the world setting which i really liked.

Persona 5 takes place in present time Tokyo, so i felt like i could relate to stuff happening. Our Main protagonist is an high school student which is again something i can kinda relate to.

This is a game so you would actually have to play through it. Depending on the way you play it you can complete it in minimum 60 hours(skipping cut scenes and stuff) ot like me who spent 85+ hours(watched cut scenes and things but didn’t max all stats). If you are a hardcore Jrpg fan then you will easily take 130+ hours to complete it.

Those 85 hours that i played through the game felt full filling. The story always manages to keep you on the edge of your seat. The game also manages to convey emotions in a pretty good way.( If the in-game character are frustrated so am i).

There were absolutely no times when i felt really bored, the game has really good pacing. It manages to keep the players entertained.

The thing i felt that makes it standout from the other Jrpg thag i have played (somewhat) is that Persona 5 has pretty different art-style then other Jrpg i have tried and it has pretty amazing Sound track. This i feel helps in making the player more immersed in the gameplay.

Also this game focuses more on the friendship. It is a key element of the game.

The combat is turn based and there are a lot of puzzles in the game like many other Jrpg games.

There are some flaws in the game too but they cannot be just told, these are something that you just feel while playing the game. Some of the flaws that i felt the game had, would probably not even be flaws for others. Any flaws that infelt were really minor and quickly forgotten. One thing i know is that it takes almost 5 hours to get going. Like the introduction and stuff will take around 5-7 hours but be patient and you will be fine.

I just feel that anyone who owns a PS4 or PS3 should play this game. It is really amazing.

Aguu Tensai Ningyou Epsiode 1 Impression

I have been low-key excited for this anime after having read the synopsis.

So Aguu is kinda like a guardian spirit which genius people are born with. The Not so successful people apparently realized the existence of this guardian spirit and used some wicked methods to make actual genius people into an guardian Spirit, so making them into an Aguu(cursed doll). They can give this Aguu to anyone who desires it.The organization that does it is still a secret.

The main protagonist is Ai who has a odd habit of doing splits randomly. She is a ballet dancer. Then there is her friend Machi who is also a Ballet dancer. Other characters include an old man and an arrogant brat with bushy eyebrows.

The animation style looks good. I am not really digging the opening soundtrack but the ending soundtrack is pretty good.

This anime has a pretty serious tone, that’s what i can say after watching the first episode.

The first episode was interesting and i am looking forward to the next episode.

Grand Blue Review(Anime)

SO Grand Blue finally aired and one thing i can say is that the animation-style is pretty good but for some reason Iori looks kinda stiff(expression wise) and different from manga. Also i appreciate that they have not censored the butts.

Facial expressions: SO the facial expression are very important in Grand blue and i think they have managed to get it right but they have not nailed it. It still look kinda out of place sometime or forced. There also times when they have nailed it but these moments are quite rare.

Other characters don’t look different than the manga so that’s good.

From what i saw in the first episode i am not disappointed. Sometimes the comedy felt like it was being forced unlike in the manga. I am being a bit more critical of the anime because i love the manga and there are somethings which the anime is not getting right, it is not something that can be just pointed out. These flaws are minor but they are creating a difference in the enjoyment factor for me. The first episode was based on 1st and 2nd chapters of the manga and i enjoyed the episode but not as much as i enjoyed reading those two chapters.( I have reread the chapters at least 5 times).

The anime adaption is really good and i will continue watching it. Honestly it is much better than i had expected it to be. The Manga is on just another level though.

Angolmois: Genkō Kassen-ki Episode 1 Review

This anime is based on real historic events. I really find that interesting, cause this probably my first historic anime which has more focus on a war that had happened.

Let’s head to the review-

So this anime has quite the art-style suited for it’s historic look. It is quite a violent anime it is trying to depict the horror’s of war so that seems fitting.

So the story revolves around some people who were exiled for reasons unknown are forced to fight against the enemy. Our main protagonist is one of the person exiled, he was actually a general in a kingdom but did something which caused him to get exiled. I think that the other exiled members will also play a key role in the anime.

Now for the characters we have our main protagonist who is a pretty confident kind of person and is strong. He is the type of person who has been through wars,so he has experience with the horror’s of war,he is also a samurai. Then we have a princess and whole bunch of other people who were exiled but we are not properly introduced to them. The other exiled people actually look cool, they might also have some different perks.

This feels like the more serious type of anime and now i am really interested in this one. Now just gotta wait for the 2nd episode.

King’s Avatar Special Ep 2 Discussion(Spoiler alert)

So in this episode we see the all star weekend progressing and more rookie challenging senior players.

The fight between the captain of Team tyranny and current user of one autumn leaf was really good.

We then see that Tang Rou questions who really Ye Xiu is. I actually would really like to see everyones mind getting blown when they realize Ye xiu is actually Ye Qiu.

Overall pretty nice episode.

King’s Avatar Special Episode 1 review

Well the first thing I noticed while watching it was the changes in the animation. Mainly the facial animation and the actual face of our Main protagonist seems a bit different. The changes in animation are well not bad but they are not a step up from the last season.

The in-game action looks good. Overall the show looks good and a fan like me would love to watch the show progressing.

Well the changes in animation are probably because of the change in the studio.

I actually don’t remember our Main protagonist looking like that. Do you?

Well that’s my initial impression of King’s avatar Season 2.

Hunter X Hunter(An overview)

If you are familiar with the anime world many people consider Dragon ball, Naruto and One Piece as the holy grail of Shounen anime/ manga many forget about a gem called Hunter x Hunter. This is an anime which is respected by it’s viewers and has been liked by everyone who has watched it. But a lot of time people hesitate to start a new series which is about 150 episode long. I am here to clear your hesitation about this wonderful anime that is Hunter x Hunter.

-What is the anime about?

Hunter x Hunter is set in a world where Hunters exist to perform all manner of dangerous tasks like capturing criminals and bravely searching for lost treasures in uncharted territories. Twelve-year-old Gon Freecss is determined to become the best Hunter possible in hopes of finding his father, who was a Hunter himself and had long ago abandoned his young son. However, Gon soon realizes the path to achieving his goals is far more challenging than he could have ever imagined.

Along the way to becoming an official Hunter, Gon befriends the lively doctor-in-training Leorio, vengeful Kurapika, and rebellious ex-assassin Killua. To attain their own goals and desires, together the four of them take the Hunter Exam, notorious for its low success rate and high probability of death. Throughout their journey, Gon and his friends embark on an adventure that puts them through many hardships and struggles. They will meet a plethora of monsters, creatures, and characters—all while learning what being a Hunter truly means.

-How is it different then other shounen?

-So Hunter x Hunter on surface looks really fun and colorful anime but it is something really really worse than that.(wont tell more because i don’t wanna spoil)

-What sets this apart?

– So a lot of times we expect something to happen in a certain way, but what if something exactly different happens? This is what Hunter x Hunter is all about, you can never anticipate things.

-what do i like in the anime?

The plot development is really good, the character development is on a complete different level. The most important are the villains in the anime, Hunter x Hunter is home to some of the most ruthless and gruesome villains i have ever seen. The arc’s in the anime are really good too.

This is the reason why everyone should at least once watch Hunter x Hunter.

UN-GO(my thoughts)

So a while back i wrote about the review of the first two episode, but now as i have watched all the 11 episodes i am writing a bit more detailed review.

First few episodes literally bored me, the mystery were to simple to solve and the cases were just to boring, but as the story progresses all the episodes and the certain mystery they had, they all start making sense(not 100% though).

It is tagged as a supernatural anime but the supernatural aspect of the anime is kept to a bare minimum. I think the anime is more psychological at the end. So it is actually worth watching till the end.

The op and Ed are good but not anything special, Voice acting is decent too.

Art-style is modern and normal nothing to weird or different.

Overall i’ll say it is worth the watch….
